BEVERLY ALLEN
Beverly Allen graduated with a bachelor's degree in law and diversity from Fairhaven College at Western Washington University. While at college, she worked for the Whatcom Civil Rights Project and developed a deep appreciation for the power of advocacy and how legal services can make a difference for families. As a member of the National Guard, Beverly served hundreds of soldiers and their family members and helped them prepare wills, separation agreements, and counseled them in how to represent themselves in their divorce cases, receiving the Army Commendation Medal in 2019 for her advocacy, and completed her 8 year term of service with the rank of captain. Beverly's military experience gave her a unique perspective and the necessary skills to help service members and their families. In her current practice, Beverly is a creative and passionate attorney who is always looking for the best outcome possible for her clients, whether through settlement or trial.
LAUREN ROMERO
Lauren Romero is a Washington-based veterans’ law and tenants’ attorney. Prior to seeking a law degree, Lauren graduated from The Ohio State University and commissioned as an active duty artillery officer in the United States Army. Lauren graduated from Seattle University School of Law in 2022. Lauren has primarily focused her law practice on civil legal aid. She has worked at various non-profits and legal aid organizations both as a law student and as a barred attorney. Her first job out of law school was in eviction defense. She fought to keep low-income tenants housed and worked diligently to minimize the poor outcomes individuals experience when going through the eviction process. Both during and after law school, Lauren has been advocating for veterans’ issues and quickly found herself drawn to veterans’ law. Lauren began working in veterans’ law during her second year of law school. Her passion for veterans’ law began during military service. She saw firsthand that a powerful advocate could make the difference between success following military service and potentially a lifetime of struggles. Ever since working in a position to assist veterans, Lauren has sought to establish herself as an advocate to aid veterans in the transition process and ensure they are able to access all the benefits they are entitled to. Lauren has continuously practiced veterans’ law throughout her law career in various capacities handling everything from discharge upgrades, individual unemployability applications, disability benefit applications, increasing disability benefits, education benefits, healthcare benefits, and military records correction. Lauren is ready and willing to take on any fight for benefits that a veteran or their family may face when dealing with the Veterans Administration or Department of Defense.
